WTF: A Community Forum on Cross-ethnic Casting and Related Issues

On February 20, join a panel of local artists and activists for a timely discussion about the topic of race and casting. “WTF: A Community Forum on Cross-ethnic Casting” touches on the recent conversation surrounding the casting of WTF, as well as other important issues about the current and future state of Asian American art. Topics will include artistic vision and freedom, the history of Hmong and Asian American actors, and the nature of the Asian American arts community.

Ilean Her, Executive Director of the Council of Asian Pacific Minnesotans, will moderate the panel featuring Ka Vang, Sandy Moua, Katie Ka Vang, Kathy Mouacheupao, and Mu’s Rick Shiomi. The event is free and open to the public, and all are encouraged to attend!
