Dragon Festival

01 Jun

The Dragon Festival is a two day, family and community friendly event that displays Asian cultural heritage in full force, and is much looked forward by the Asian Pacific community in Minnesota. The Dragon Boat Festival is a 2,400 year old traditional festival that is based on the legend of Qu Yuan. Our community was inspired to start Twin Cities’ own Dragon Boat event after watching so many successful events in many other parts of the United States.

There will be dragon boat races, cultural performances, martial arts demonstrations, children’s craft activities, canoe rides, local Asian businesses selling a variety of Asian products, food, and much more. Come join us for some fun!

  • Where: Lake Phalen. Phalen Lake Park, 1530 Phalen Drive, St Paul, MN 55106
  • When: Saturday, July 9- Sunday, July 10

There will also be a 5K walk around Lake Phalen, sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield. Registration starts from 8am to 8.45am, and the walk starts at 9am. It is a $10 pre-registration or a $15 same day registration.

If you are interested in volunteering, performing, vending or wanting to start a boat team, visit for more details.

We hope to see you there!

The annual Dragon Festival is a community planned event that is supported by business and individual supporters.
