The 2011 Legislature established the Sunset Advisory Commission to review state agencies and make recommendations on the abolition, continuation, or reorganization of each affected state agency and on the need for the performance of the functions of the agency. The Commission includes four members of the House of Representatives, four members of the Senate, and four members appointed by the Governor.
Most state executive branch agencies will be reviewed between 2012 and 2022, according to a schedule prescribed in law. Many agencies, including most state boards, councils, and commissions, expire automatically at the scheduled date unless a new law continues the agency.
The Council on Asian-Pacific Minnesotans is up for review this year and is set to automatically expire June 2013 unless a new law continues the agency.
PLEASE COME to the hearing and SUPPORT THE COUNCIL!
