American Indian OIC, job training opportunities

27 Dec

The American Indian OIC is an accredited training school located on Cedar and Franklin in Minneapolis. We currently do not charge application fees, in fact, in the past year we’ve received two $5 million grants from the U.S. Department of Labor, and therefore all of our training (excluding our 3 business classes) are being offered free of charge to all students. And over 95% of applicants interested in the business programs receive Pell Grants for part or all of their schooling. I have listed the programs we offer below and the amount of time it takes to complete the degree.

In addition to free tuition for most programs, our students receive free bus passes while they are in school and those in Health Care programs receive a $50 gift card to go toward scrubs and shoes. Graduates are invited to participate in our nationally recognized Employment Services program that has helped 90% of our grads obtain a job within 2-3 months after graduation. I’ve attached flyers for our 4 specialties and ask that you pass this information on to anyone you think might be interested in our services. We’re just hoping to reach out to as many people as possible while we’re able to offer so many of our programs for free. The more people we reach, the more people we can train and help find secure, permanent jobs. Our programs are available to everyone.

The only requirements the AIOIC have are that students must be 18 or older they must pass the Test of Adult Basic Education test (reading and math) with a 5 or higher. For those who score lower, we do have a free ABE/GED class. While ESL classes are not offered, many of our students do not have English as their primary language. Some of our Health Occupations programs are offered to those who would have a harder time in the regular classes and would need more time with the material.
