Dragon Festival Committee is calling out for Boat Race Teams, Vendors, Volunteers, Performers, Martial Arts Performances and Demonstrations and do.walk Walkers and Runners!

Saint Paul, Minn. – The 2012 Dragon Festival will be the weekend of July 14 & 15, at Phalen Lake Park, 1530 Phalen Drive, St. Paul, MN 55106.

The Dragon Festival is a two-day free event to showcase cultural heritage, entertainment, cuisine and all types of ethnic Asian Pacific Islander community activities. This largest pan-Asian Pacific Islander community event is an effort to increase cross-cultural understanding among the several ethnic groups and with the greater mainstream community.

The Dragon Festival is a children, family, and community friendly event that is much beloved in the Asian American and Pacific Islander and eastside St. Paul communities.  It is one of the major highlights and attractions in the Twin Cities.  The Dragon Festival attracts more than 12,000 people over two days.

Boat Teams: There are still spots open for team captains to register their team. The Dragon Festival Boat Races wants energetic and committed boat race teams for the 2012 Dragon Festival held at Lake Phalen in Saint Paul, Minnesota. To reserve your practice times, team captains can download a form here.

Vendors: The Dragon Festival Planning Committee is committed to providing festival goers with a uniquely Asian and Pacific Islander inspired event. We want diverse and varied vendors that will provide festival goers with a multitude of experiences, smell, taste and options. We strive to keep the vendor fees low and affordable so that community non-profits and businesses can partake in and do outreach to the community. Visit our website to register.

Cultural Performances: Call for performers for the 2012 Dragon Festival. We are looking for inspired and cultural perfmances from groups and indivduals. Dragon festival is a family style event that blends Asian Cultures and the excitement and competition of dragon boat racing. Typical performances last 5 to 10 minutes and are inspired by cultural dress and style. Sign up here.

Volunteers: Dependable and able volunteers needed for morning and afternoon shifts to help setup, maintain a tent, and tear down during the hours of opreations for the dragon festival. The more we have the easier it is. Free water is provided. Fill out a volunteer application here.

Martial Arts demonstrations: Come promote your Martial Arts organization for free. You provide the demonstration, we provide the stage. Demonstrations last 10 to 20 minutes and are free. Celebrate the art and heritage of your martial art. Email us at martialarts@dragonfestival.org

Blue Cross Blue Shield do.walk: Walk beautiful Lake Phalen in Saint Paul, Minnesota while supporting the 2012 Dragon Festival. Particiapants receive a free DO.Walk t-shirt sponsored by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Minnesota. The distance around the lake measures 5 kilometers. Sign up here.
