As the school choice season for 2013-14 gets underway, families can find information about Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) as well as charter and private schools in St. Paul at the School Choice Fair. Sponsored by Saint Paul Public Schools, the event will be held this Saturday Jan. 12, 2013, at St. Paul’s RiverCentre in the Grand Ballroom.
In addition to getting updates on recent SPPS enrollment changes, families will get personalized help from SPPS staff to choose a school and to complete an application.
Interpreters will be available. Fair admission is free and free shuttles to the event will run starting at 9:15 a.m. from Sears (425 Rice St.), the SPPS administration building (360 Colborne St.) and Cub Foods at the Sunray Center (2197 Old Hudson Rd.).
Families can download and print applications or apply online at apply.spps.org. SPPS staff at the Student Placement Center are also available to help by calling 651-632-3760.
Each year about 3,000 people attend the event which SPPS has hosted for more than 12 years. For more information or to apply to a school go to: http://apply.spps.org/tools_for_school_selection
